An excellent experience of Vodafone Foundation in support of children living with HIV/AIDS in Lesotho.
Today, approximately 41,000 children live with HIV/AIDS in a small and poor country of only 30,000 km2, each of them needing immediate support and treatment. As an initiative of the Vodafone Foundation in UK, all Vodafone employees around the globe were invited to run in the Amsterdam Marathon on October 19th 2014 and in the same time raise money for this important cause.
In the long list of employees were also those from Vodafone Albania, who worked hard and with dedication for the fundraising campaign, but also for the physical training. Ejona Varangu, Arber Osmani, Andrin Tema, Oskeol Gjoni, Ylli Seitaj and Albi Greva are our superheroes of Vodafone Albania who responded to the call and trained every day during the last 3 months doing their best to face this challenge. Vodafone Albania CEO, Mr. Dietlof Mare was part of the Albanian team as well.
Many were the ideas regarding the individual campaigns of our employees. We have seen them cooking with the aim of raising funds, we have seen them singing to have the so much needed contributions , we have seen them running every day preparing for the Marathon – turning this whole experience in a competition between the hard training and raising money for this good cause. We are proud to confirm that the Vodafone Albania team managed to raise together the amount of
€ 22, 618, which adds to the total amount of
£ 94,440 raised globally for this initiative of Vodafone Foundation.
