Educational Program:
• Self-learning : The first 2-3 months students explore all the learning targets (8 areas) by doing the self-learning activities. Self-Learning activities are short, interactive exercises designed to inspire and build up skills. Coaches help with activities by getting learners unstuck, offering advice and providing encouragement. Through TUMO Path software, students define their personal path of training. Supervised and encouraged by the Coaches, they attend courses, tutorials and are assessed on their knowledge. Self-learning sessions are designed to provide a range of skills in each area, aiming that the student chooses 4 areas at the end of this phase. Each area has three levels in which the student will access at his own pace, according to their areas of interest. There are hundreds of activities to choose from, and most are prerequisites that lead to workshops in each learning target.
• Workshops: After having completed successfully all the Self-learning modules at a level of a given area, the student can attend the Workshop. Each workshop lasts one month. Workshops are organised and supervised by professionals and experts from the eight offered areas of expertise. Students are grouped according to the degree of their progress to continue in individual or group projects. The various artistic projects implemented in this way allow the students to specialise in a certain area. Each area has three levels where they will access at their own pace, according to their areas of interest. Workshops range from beginner to advanced and culminate in individual or team projects. Each project is published to the participant’s digital portfolio, which they can later use to showcase their work.
• Labs: Project Labs are offered on a rotating basis, 2 times per year, and are led by top technology and design professionals. These instructors arrive at TUMO each year to lead advanced labs and to work with TUMO teens on real world projects. Depending on the project, labs can last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months.
