Vodafone Albania announces today a change in its leadership team. The Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Albania, Mr. Achilleas Kanaris, will conclude this role after 4 successful years to take another executive position within Vodafone, as CEO of Vodafone Romania.
Starting from July 1, 2021, the role of CEO of Vodafone Albania will, for the first time, be held by a woman, Mrs. Katia Stathaki.
Mr. Kanaris assumed the role of CEO of Vodafone Albania in January 2018. Under his leadership, Vodafone began its transformation journey from a mobile company into a fully converged company, through the acquisition of Abcom and integration with the second largest fixed services company in Albania. Mr. Kanaris ensured Vodafone’s market leadership through the company’s achievements in providing the best network, innovative technology, and the Best Customer Experience. During his management, Vodafone Albania was the first company to test 5G technology in Albania, thus starting the transformation from a telecommunications company into a technology company.
Mrs. Katia Stathaki joined Vodafone in 2002 and since then has held important leadership positions in the Commercial unit and Vodafone Business. In 2016, she was appointed Director of the Business Unit at Vodafone Greece. Mrs. Katia was born in Greece and raised in Germany. She graduated from the National Technical University of Athens in Electrical and Computer Engineering and holds an MBA from Henley Business School in the United Kingdom.
Under Mrs. Katia Stathaki’s leadership, Vodafone Albania will continue implementing strategic investments in fixed infrastructure worth over €100 million, will carry out Vodafone’s plans to be the first to launch 5G technology services for businesses and consumers, and will lead the digital transformation of the SME market and IoT services in the country, aiming to realize Vodafone’s ambition of becoming a technology company. During her leadership, Vodafone will finalize the creation of the new VOIS brand, a project that will enable the employment of hundreds of young Albanians to provide services to other European markets.
