Vodafone Foundation and British Council Launch Albania’s First National Digital Education Platform

The Vodafone Foundation in Albania and the British Council have officially signed a cooperation agreement to launch the first National Digital Platform for Education as part of the Skills Upload Junior programme — marking a significant milestone in advancing digital education across Albania.

The signing ceremony took place at the Innovation Hub in the Pyramid of Tirana, in the presence of Ms. Lisa Felton, Director of the Vodafone Group Foundation; senior executives from Vodafone Albania; Ms. Majlinda Mazelliu, Director of the British Council for Albania and Kosovo; representatives from the British Embassy; Deputy Ministers of Education, Ms. Orjana Osmani and Ms. Herida Duro; as well as Ms. Dorina Rapti from the Agency for Quality Assurance in Pre-University Education.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Lisa Felton emphasized that this partnership with the British Council aims to enhance the digital skills of students across Albanian schools. To achieve this, the two institutions will develop the first online platform offering specialized curricula focused on artificial intelligence and digital wellbeing, aligned with European education models in countries such as Germany, Spain, Greece, and Romania - where the Vodafone Foundation is also active.

Ms. Majlinda Mazelliu, Director of the British Council, highlighted that this collaboration represents a joint commitment to creating new pathways for students to build future-ready knowledge through technology—not merely as consumers, but as innovators and problem solvers.
Following the official signing, students presented inspiring digital projects showcasing creativity and innovation, reflecting the program’s mission: to build a safer and more inclusive digital future.
The National Digital Platform will provide personalized content and dedicated training for teachers and students, empowering them with essential digital skills. This initiative aligns with the Vodafone Foundation’s mission to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusion through technology.
