Vodafone Albania Foundation is the first ever business foundation established in Albania, aiming to respond to community needs by allocation of grants to local organizations, including non-profit organizations, civil society and state government institutions.
Vodafone Albania is pleased to announce the establishment of the Vodafone Albania Foundation, an independent legal entity.  This foundation will be supported by Vodafone Albania and Vodafone Group Foundation, which has developed a unique worldwide network of 24 foundations around the world in the last six years.
The main aim of the Vodafone Albania Foundation will be to make a positive contribution to local communities by allocating direct grants to locally registered charities and global NGOs to fund projects that will have a social impact.  Areas of focus will include: education, health, social welfare and environment.  These projects will ultimately benefit people in need, especially children with special needs, as well as other vulnerable groups.
Key priorities for the Vodafone Albania Foundation are to focus on social issues that will help people to lead fuller lives by sharing the benefits of mobile communications technology as widely as possible; protecting the natural environment; and supporting the local communities in which Vodafone’s customers, employees, investors and suppliers live.
Mr. Haris Broumidis, CEO, Vodafone Albania, said: “By establishing the local foundation we believe we can reach out to those communities needing the most help. It is a great pleasure to acknowledge that this is the first ever business charity organization formed in Albania, and we hope to see more organizations provide funding to support disadvantaged people in the future.”
The activity of the Vodafone Albania Foundation will be financed through an annual donation from The Vodafone Group Foundation and Vodafone Albania.
The activities of Vodafone Albania foundation will be under the registered Vodafone Foundation Logo.
