The Vodafone Albania Foundation is the only business foundation providing grants to projects dedicated to the assistance to a distinct group of citizens, ex-victims of human trafficking, tackling what is a national concern. During the last year, VAF has funded the organization Different and Equal in responding to the needs of this community. The mission of the organization is to offer qualified social and psychological services to save and reintegrate victims of human trafficking, which often include minorities and children, by helping them to recuperate from the abuse they have faced. 60 women and 24 children are receiving a package of reintegration services. 27 of them are being trained to improve their skills and will then be assisted in finding a job. 9 other former victims are receiving help to resume their education, including one at university level. Employment has been found for 24 women. All of them are being offered medical assistance. This project has contributed directly to the implementation of the National Strategy on Combating Trafficking and National Referral Mechanism and related anti-trafficking policies in Albania, through the identification, referral and assistance for victims of trafficking 8 Agreements have been expanded and consolidated between D&E and other institutions offering direct or indirect assistance to Albanian victims of trafficking, while the VAF remains the sole contributor from the business community.
