Vodafone Albania Foundation is a registered Non Profit Organization established on 17 July 2007 according to the Albanian legislation. It is founded by Vodafone Albania Sh.A. as an institution dedicated to implement its social investment policy. The Vodafone Albania Foundation opened its office in Tirana on 1 February 2008.

The Foundation aims to allocate grants to local organizations, including non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions or individuals through specific programs in order to respond to community needs. It also will benefit from developments in mobile technology as widely as possible, protecting the environment, national culture and heritage, as well as supporting and meeting the local community needs and interests.

Based on mission statement of Vodafone Foundation and Vodafone Albania Foundation, the main thematic areas of intervention include education, health, environment and social-economic condition of communities in need.
Who is expected to benefit from these funds?
Beneficiaries are communities in need, especially children (including orphans kids, roma children and children with special needs, kids living in blood feud phenomenon, children in need). Benefiting target can also be vulnerable groups such disabled persons, elderly people in need, people touched by violence and other human rights violations.
What is the governing structure of Vodafone Albania Foundation?
The Vodafone Albania Foundation is governed by the Board of Trustees. It consists of 7 members, both Vodafone Albania employees and non-Vodafone selected individuals, chaired by one of the members elected with the majority of the vote. The Board is responsible for the approval of the policies, procedures and the annual plan. It is responsible for any project approval. It is also responsible to monitor the Foundation office and program management by the executive team.
The executive team consist in an Executive Director and an Executive Assistant. The team is supported by a finance expert and a legal expert from Vodafone Albania in performing its relevant duties. The team is responsible to implement the program implementation as per the approved annual plan, including all related contracts, communication plan, project implementations’ monitoring, evaluation and reporting. It is responsible to run the office functioning. It is also responsible to set up bridges between Vodafone Albania employees’ matching scheme with implementation of social investment component.
Which are the donors of the Vodafone Albania Foundation?
Vodafone Albania Sh.A. and Vodafone Group Foundation are the two donors that will allocate funds for Vodafone Albania Foundation in order to develop its annual plan. They both are expected to contribute equal charitable funds every year. On top of this, Vodafone Albania Sh.A. will also cover the operation running costs and human resources for the foundation office functioning, as well as other expenses for implementation the communication plan.
What is the procedure to benefit from Foundation Grants?
Based on the “Call for Applications” early announced by Vodafone Albania Foundation (VAF), any NPO or any other civil society organization related to the social impact field can apply for Vodafone Albania Foundation grants within the deadlines. Project proposal can be of a maximum duration of 1 year. The applicant must be ready to present the project proposal as per instructions provided by VAF, the application form, and all required identification documentation for the organization. Only the approved projects will be eligible to engage the applicant to sign an agreement with VAF. VAF will be responsible to monitor, evaluate and report on project development in all its components and ensure the money are used with efficiency.
What is the procedure to benefit from “World of Difference” program?
Based on the “Call for Individual Applications” early announced by Vodafone Albania Foundation (VAF) for the “World of Difference” program, any individual that feels committed and passionate for a given social impact project proposal can apply for this program within the deadlines. Project proposal can be of a maximum duration of 1 year. The applicant must be ready to present the project proposal as per instruction provided by VAF, the application form, CV, and all required identification documentation, as well as a confirmation by an NPO that agrees to endorse the project within its program. Only the approved projects will be eligible to engage the endorsing NPO to sign an agreement with VAF that will cover the costs of the salary and operation expenses for the applicant. VAF will be responsible to monitor, evaluate and report on project development in all its components and ensure the investment is used with efficiency.
What is the schedule for application each year?
There will be two application seasons each year, respectively in every April and November. The call for application will be announced in daily press and other means of media. Applicants will have two weeks available to prepare their applications.
